Jeffery Young, Jr., Esq. is a Partner with Legis Group LLC. Prior joining Legis Group, Mr. Young served as Legislative Counsel in the Office of Philadelphia City Council President Darrell L. Clarke, providing legal and policy advice on legislative issues. Mr. Young was also responsible for land use, zoning and real estate development matters within the 5th Councilmanic District.
Born and raised in Philadelphia, Mr. Young attended Girard College, a prestigious elementary and secondary education boarding school for academically capable students from low income, single parent families. He received his B.A. in Political Science from Temple University and Juris Doctorate from Rutgers School of Law-Newark in Newark, New Jersey. While at Rutgers, Mr. Young received the Governor’s Executive Fellowship from the Eagleton Institute of Politics.
Mr. Young’s legal practice focuses on a variety real estate matters including land use, zoning, code enforcement, estate planning and administration, advising small businesses and non-profit organizations, and government affairs. Mr. Young’s past experiences working for the City of Philadelphia allows him to work closely with elected officials and government agencies for the benefit of his clients.
Mr. Young served on numerous boards and commissions including the City of Philadelphia’s Mayor’s Commission on African American Males, the Barristers’ Association of Philadelphia, the Union Benevolent Association, and most recently served on the board of directors for the Philadelphia Housing Development Corporation. Mr. Young is a Democratic Committee-person in the 32nd Ward 18th Division and is currently counsel to the 32nd Ward Democratic Executive Committee.
