Joel L. Schwartz, ESQ.

Joel has been practicing law for thirty (30) years and over the course of time he has used his background in business and taxation to the benefit of both businesses and individuals. He helps business clients in all aspects of business formation including tax-free reorganizations, foreign business ventures, asset sales, stock sales, private offerings and disclosure statements. He works with clients to draft leases, license agreements, employment agreements and agreements to buy or sell a business. Joel has gained a reputation as a fierce advocate for his clients and his clients have come to rely upon him in handling general litigation matters; thus advocating for clients in variety of Municipal Court matters, Criminal Court Matters, Family Court Matters, Probate Matters, as well as both Federal District Court and United States Bankruptcy Court matters.

Prior to joining Legis Group, since 2004, Joel owned and operated a solo law practice in South Jersey, thus honing skills in operations, marketing and general business matters. In this capacity he worked with clients on tax, estate planning, bankruptcy and real estate issues, with a focus on complex tax issues for both businesses and individuals.

Joel has and continues to work as in-house counsel for a Southern New Jersey-based, family-owned bio-tech company as well as a NJ based distillery. In this capacity, he helps the companies primarily by providing advice on both business matters (national and international) as well as and handling all litigation for claims by or against the business. Joel also has experience working as an attorney at a law firm in Philadelphia that specializes in issues appurtenant to franchising.
